Youth Services for Grades 11 & 12

We developed our new Youth Services Program for Grades 11 & 12 to continue to build student knowledge and provide youth ages 16 - 18 with an open forum to discuss issues related to sexual health that affect older teens and young adults.

Health Connected's highly trained educators deliver our original, sequential Teen Talk Young Adult Curriculum during school time in either English or Spanish, usually in five 50-60 minute class session over the course of one week. Our educators use group work, question-and-answer sessions, role-plays, and other interactive teaching techniques to cover a variety of age-appropriate topics, including:

  • Personal Values Reflection

  • Parent & Trusted Adult Communication

  • Healthy Relationships & Partner/Peer Communication

  • Sexually Transmitted Diseases & Contraceptive Options Review

  • Media Literacy & Technology

  • Sexual Safety & Consent

One of the key aspects of our Youth Services Program for Grades 11 & 12 is the program's focus on helping older adolescents articulate their personal values, setting goals for the future, and advocating for their own health and the health of their peers.

As with all of Health Connected's youth services, this program is medically-accurate, bias-free, inclusive, and in alignment with the California Healthy Youth Act. Our 11th & 12th grade program is designed to equip 16 - 18 year old students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed sexual health decisions as they transition from high school into adulthood.
