Join Our Youth Advisory Board

The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) is a group of health-minded high schoolers across the Peninsula who, through education, adovocacy, and outreach initiatives, are making a positive impact on the health of Bay Area youth.

YAB members play a critical role in Health Connected's curricula development process, reviewing lessons and activities to ensure they are relevant to and resonant with teens. The YAB promotes every facet of health--from nutrition to reproductive rights. They attend community health fairs, create informational videos, conduct street outreach, and develop social media campaigns that have increased health awareness amongst hundreds of youth.

In early 2016 the YAB was invited to discuss its views on reproductive justice and sexual assault on a panel at the San Mateo Youth Conference.

Through their work, members also grow critical skills around meeting deadlines, communicating within groups, and producing high-quality work that will serve them in their future professional pursuits.
